PCI Express Riser (2012)

I had a need to create a non-standard PCI Express 1X riser card for a small 3.5″ form factor PC motherboard.  This project, dubbed “The Hammer’ due to its funny shape, was a good opportunity to try out a PCB routing technique of matching the length of the differential signal pairs used for the PCIe data lanes.  The riser actually worked pretty well, though it ended up not being necessary once I changed to a different motherboard.
