PCI Express Riser (2012)

I had a need to create a non-standard PCI Express 1X riser card for a small 3.5″ form factor PC motherboard. ┬áThis project, dubbed “The Hammer’ due to its funny shape, was a good opportunity to try out a PCB routing technique of matching the length of the differential signal pairs used for the PCIe data lanes. ┬áThe riser actually worked pretty well, though it ended up not being necessary once I changed to a different motherboard.
